Stumbles do not need to paralyse us.

For the topic of resilience, the Thumbs-up! Life Coaches of Choa Chu Kang Secondary, namely Anthony, Dawn and myself, wanted our Coachees to meet Darren, who is a warm deaf brother from the Silent Ministry of my church.

Darren had willingly come (thanks to bro Benruth for making the arrangement & in the translation) to share his life story with the youths, who gave their full attention to him as he handsigned his sharing. His was a life of resilience and courage which has truly encouraged not just the youths, but also mine. :)

A word to the youths: You are all leaders of today, not tomorrow. And this does not mean that you have to be perfect. Boldly admit your weaknesses, yet telling yourselves that your lives do not have to be hindered because of them. God has a wonderful purpose for each of your lives. And i pray for Him to grant you the strength and courage to pick yourselves up from every stumble. :)

"i do not need anyone when i am weak!"

it is no coincidence that i read this devotional straight after i posted my message above to the youths. God wants me to admit that, yesh i too struggled and still do (very much lesser though) to send out appeals of neediness and help to even my loved ones; the cries of the author in the devotional sound so much like mine at times.

But today i want to tell all of you now, yes even the youths, 'Stay and keep watch with me when i am in need. Cos' i will need you, even if it's just a listening ear or a smile to let me know that you are here.' *grins*

And i hope you do the same too, to allow me in when you need me. *hugs*

God does more than enough.

i started today with tears (almost) in my eyes.

The moment i logged on msn in the morning, a window popped out and spelt 'hey i just want to say thanks....'.

Me: oh...for?
Weiling: erm...for following up with me when i was lost...

And then came in the conversation, many accounts of how my ex-primary classmate, Weiling, has been truly touched by God in the past weeks, after being a Christian for a few years. She even went for the adult encounter, and gosh God revealed Himself to her so much, and she released forgiveness upon many people in her life, including herself. :)

She continued...
(exact words on msn window)
'when i was slained, i saw this scene when I was watchin Jesus being whipped.. it's like every whip he went through, it was for one of my sin.. and I was like..pls don't whip Him anymore......

then Jesus looked at me, with an expression like it had to be done... do not fear, do not worry.. do not reject...'

Awwww........ God really loves her so..... :) *teary eyes*
And she is getting baptised at the end of this month! *rejoices with angels above!*

She thanked God for putting me on her path; i thank God more for putting her in my life. I admit that it got a little heartbreaking in the past when i saw that she still wanted to live life her own 'destructive' ways. But i never stopped believing that her life can be victorious for Jesus. I praise the Lord so much that after God's own conviction in her heart, i have this opportunity to hear of how God has transformed her life. :)

And what we have been praying for her for the past years came true...
'for the past 1 week, i have been coming to work, doing everything with a joyful peaceful, grateful heart , and i thank God for everything.. and God is good, my company did not pay for my mistake and no one penalised me...' :)

*Dear Weiling, thank you for letting me into your life. Let's give thanks to God, in all and above all, for how He has worked in your life. i really didnt do much; the most that i could have done came from God Himself. :) i'm really so touched by your testimonies that i am still sobbing a little till now! :P

I bless you to know that Jesus has won the greatest victory for you, because you are worth it. I bless you with greater Love, and the strength to love further, your family (especially your dad), your new cell leader and sisters :), your friends and colleagues, and even the strangers that God puts on your path. (1 Thessalonians 5:24) The One who calls you is faithful, and He will do it.

In Jesus' name, Amen. :) * Woohoooooooo!

What have i not done enough?

i spent some really intimate with the Holy Spirit last thurs and fri evenings. Thank God, the Father, for His drawing so near. :)

Have you ever asked yourself the question 'What have i not done enough?' ?

When i was prompted to pray for the youth generation, my spirit was really in pain, and that was the question i asked myself then. It was so painful that i lost even the words to pray, and simply allowed the Holy Spirit to groan and ache within me.

What have i not done enough?
Why are there so many girls out there who are not living lives that respect even themselves?
Do young people really think that it is alright to do 'some things' as long as they're done in privacy?

'Alright' is such a loosely used word, an excuse word. I agree with grandma Ps Julie - True character and integrity is doing the right thing even when no person is watching. Oh well, but God is, the God who knows the absolute rights and wrongs.

In the excruciating moments of interceding and praying in the spirit, God led me to study the Parable of the Good Samaritan (Luke 10: 25-37 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Luke%2010:25-37;&version=31;), especially on the steps the good samaritan took to help the injured man to the best of his ability. This becomes a good checklist for myself, in reviewing if i have done enough for every person God has placed on my path, including many of you who are reading my post now. :)

What is doing enough for any person God placed on your path:
(note the word 'enough' here refers to our human abilities. We ourselves can never do completely enough, cos' we need God to activate the supernatural in whatever we do)

verse 33b 'He (the good samaritan) took pity on him (the injured man)'. [We have to feel the compassion. Every action must arise out of a compassion and love for the person in need.]

verse 34a 'he bandaged his wounds' [Meeting the person's most straightforward and superficial need first]

verse 34b 'he put the man on his own donkey' [The injured man is literally above the samaritan. Are you willing to put the person above yourself and your own needs?]

verse 34b 'took him to a inn and took care of him' [It should be more than a 'touch and go' gesture. Do you bandage someone's wounds, only to leave him to defend for himself straight after that? He needs our support, our nursing, our prayers.]

verse 35a 'took out two silver coins' and asked the innkeeper to look after him [he willingly sacrificed even his possession (more than offering physical help), without the person asking.]

verse 35b he promised to reimburse any extra expense to the innkeeper in nursing the man. [the samaritan's heart is to want to ensure that the man heals completely and can stand on his own after that.]

As i was writing these down, i began to wonder how the injured man feels through all these. I suspect he must have been so touched by such authentic love, that a stranger would give so much to him, without even him asking.

This is the reality of God's love! You may not know Him, not understand Him or even find Him a nuisance, but the truth is, He has already given His love to you.

Brothers and sisters, let's go out to love and give as the good samaritan! Let love be our motivation!
What have you not done enough? *grins*
